Description:
The composer/keyboardist is the musical brain behind the Russian-born male-female duo unit: iamthemorning, and his '22 album, which was released exclusively on digital formats and some websites, is now available for general distribution! This is a limited analog edition; the third solo work under his own name, released between his 2018 debut and his independent "Water Movments" album. This time, following his debut in '18, the band features Vlad Avy (g), ex-KUBIKMAGGI member and support member of iamthemorning, and Gavin Harrison (drs), PORCUPINE TREE/KING CRIMSON member. The band is composed of Gavin Harrison (drs) of PORCUPINE TREE/KING CRIMSON and Porcelain Tree/KING CRIMSON, and the core of the album is the fluent and technical keyboard work by Harrison, who was trained in classical music. The album contains instrumental pieces that are prestigious and blend between symphonic rock, fusion, and modern classical music. While there is a connection with Tigran Hamasyan's works, such as the use of Eastern European style verses and technical playing, there is also a sense of scale created by the effective insertion of string arrangements that make use of his experience with iamthemorning, and the introspective and sentimental expression that is particularly evident in the piano solo 'Cascades', which is like a counterpart to dynamic pieces such as 'Voyager' and 'Apparatus'. The introspective and sentimental expression of the piano solo 'Cascades', which serves as a counterpoint to the dynamic compositions such as 'Voyager' and 'Apparatus', is particularly remarkable. Guests include Tony Levin (b) of KING CRIMSON/STICK MEN and others, and Zoltan Renaldi (g) and Evan Carson (perc), who also support iamthemorning.
