What is a Softshell Fabric?

Softshell fabrics have a relatively durable outer face bonded to a soft fabric that is comfortable next to skin.  It blocks most of the wind, making it an ideal fabric for jackets for both adults and kids.

Pacific Tech is ideal for kids jackets and vests.  It is lovely to work with especially for novice sewists because it is very stable.  The face is highly water repellent and the polyester outer layer is blended with 6% Spandex giving it a slight amount of ease. This adds to the comfort of the garment.  It is bonded to a very soft, low pile fleece making it warm and comfortable. 

While many adult jackets are made from Pacific Tech, it is easy to work with, and perfect for practicing on kids jackets. There are prints suitable for all ages.

Some of our designs are printed in British Columbia and are limited quantity as we typically print a design just once.  They are vibrant and fun!

Those with a color name beginning with PTE are made in Europe and have similar technical qualities to those in Goretex fabrics. They have a highly breathable membrane.
